Active Start Childcare is a trusted and established leader in early learning, proudly serving families in Calgary and Airdrie—and now expanding with a brand-new centre in Edmonton! We are seeking individuals who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidates will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. These individuals must have strong leadership and classroom management skills.

Prior experience is required, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.

Key Responsibilities





- Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the interests and needs of the children.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment.
- Leading and supporting children in integrated learning and recreational activities.
- Actively supervising and engaging with children while ensuring their well-being.
- Providing regular communication to parents through monthly newsletters and daily updates.
- Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Participating in career development initiatives.
- Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

- Prior childcare/daycare experience is required
- Level 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English
- Proficiency in computer applications and administrative systems
- Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred)
