After more than four decades of leadership from our retiring Lead Estimator, we're looking for the next anchor of our estimating department — someone who will help shape the team's future while carrying forward a standard of excellence built over 40 years.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational role at a well-established, financially stable GC. You won't just be filling a position — you'll be building the next chapter of our estimating department, with the mentorship and support of a leadership team invested in your long-term growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

· Lead full-cycle estimating for industrial and commercial projects ranging from $2M to $5M.

· Prepare accurate, competitive estimates spanning mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural scopes.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

· Review project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify risks and opportunities.

· Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids.

· Collaborate closely with project managers, operations, and senior leadership throughout preconstruction.

· Mentor and help build out a growing estimating team as the department expands.

- Contribute to the development of estimating processes, standards, and best practices.

WHAT YOU BRING

· .

· Minimum of 5 years of direct estimating experience,



with demonstrated exposure across mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural scopes.

· A track record of independently running full bid cycles from takeoff through award.

· Strong working knowledge of the Eastern Ontario / Kingston-area construction and vendor market — candidates based in or with established relationships in the Kingston area are strongly preferred.

· Proficiency with estimating software and standard construction documentation.

· Demonstrated familiarity with and proficiency in CCDC contracts, including builders’ risk insurance requirements, and the interpretation and administration of project specific supplementary conditions.

· Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy under deadline pressure.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to produce high-quality bid documents.

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
