About the Role

This position will be responsible to ensure the sanitary cleanliness of the production facilities and properties (both internal and external) in compliance with SQF requirements and mandates.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain clean and safe work areas at all times.
- Ensure washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, locker rooms, and other non-production areas are kept clean and sanitary for all associates.
- Refill and maintain soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers in both production and non-production areas.
- Monitor garbage bins and replace bags when full.
- Remove any objects or hazards that could potentially endanger the safety of workers.
- Follow all HACCP, SQF, GMP, and Food Safety requirements.




- Provide direct supervision to Sanitation staff in the execution of sanitation procedures to ensure processing lines are cleaned and ready for on-time production start-ups.
- Provide direct supervision to Sanitation staff and agency workers in the performance of sanitation procedures to ensure processing lines are cleaned properly during weekend operations.
- Perform weekly and monthly facility inspections.
- Complete on-site verification of sanitation critical records and implement corrective actions as required.
- Responsible for deep cleaning of the facility, including offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, hallways, common areas, and production floor equipment.
- Train, coach, and oversee sanitation employees and agency staff in deep-cleaning procedures and sanitation standards.
- Assist with coordinating sanitation schedules and work assignments to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Oversee production line set-up activities and ensure readiness for production.
- Communicate sanitation concerns, equipment issues, and corrective actions to management as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety.

Technical Knowledge & Experience





- Knowledge of handling sanitation chemicals, air guns, pressure washing equipment, and hand tools.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery for cleaning and sanitation purposes.
- Working knowledge of sanitation practices within a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, and food safety procedures is considered an asset.

Education

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Other Skills Required

- Ability to lead by example and promote secure work practices.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and effectively supervise a team.
- Follow all Health & Safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hearing protection, and any other required equipment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- May be required to work in low and high temperature environments and wet conditions.
- Ability to safely use sanitation tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
