Role Description The Logistics Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating daily freight movements, including scheduling pickups and deliveries, optimizing routes, and ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
The Logistics
Coordinator will communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide shipment updates, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records. Daily tasks include managing load documentation, tracking shipments, monitoring inventory levels related to freight,
and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role also involves responding to customer inquiries, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to a cooperative and efficient logistics operation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for route planning, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive client relationships.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Management skills to track freight, manage loads, and maintain accurate shipment records.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Supply Chain Management to understand end-to-end logistics processes and contribute to operational efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, spreadsheets, and related logistics software.
- Experience in trucking, freight, or transportation logistics is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
