Vacancy Status: Replacement Position – Existing role

Salary Range: Starting at $120,000 annually

Role Description The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of plant equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, continuous improvement initiatives, budget management, and maintenance team development. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime, support operational goals, and ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety standards while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Kay Responsibilities

- Plan, direct and co-ordinate activities concerned with design, repair, maintenance and improvement of equipment and machinery.
- Lead and manage maintenance personnel, including resource planning, training and education.
- Maintain an efficient, economical and continuous improvement plant operation by establishing preventative maintenance, equipment modification and repair programs for all equipment.
- Develop annual budgets for Business Plan Development and monitor budgets monthly developing corrective action plans for variances to budgets.
- Create, promote and encourage teamwork among maintenance staff and with other internal and external personnel.
- Supervise and co-ordinate contractors, as required.
- Assist in defining equipment specifications, preparing cost estimates, planning and forecasting costs on new projects, making recommendations and providing technical support, as required.




- Monitor inventory of spare parts, approve requisitions for new spare parts, as required.
- Review and provide input on plans for facility improvements, relocations and alterations.
- Ensure compliance to Quality Systems (IATF16949), EMS (ISO14001), OHSA (Act & Regulations) and security (C-TPAT) requirements.
- Ensure, with the co-operation of other departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction and strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
- Ensure enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements and Quality Management System (IATF16949) without compromising either the organization or its Customers.
- Provide on-the-job training and support personnel on all required shifts.
- Drive year-over-year continuous improvement initiatives in areas of responsibility.
- Identify training needs of employees and work with Human Resources dept. to schedule training.
- Manage daily downtime, past due PM’s, dept. overtime and other factors affecting variable cost using continuous improvement tools.
- Assist Supervisors in completion of CAR's/PAR’s.
- Ensure, promote and comply with health, safety and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
- Perform regular workplace inspection, accident investigation and correct unsafe acts or conditions. Train current/transferred/temporary employees on safe methods of conducting their job. Conduct or commend Health & Safety performance.
- Attend authorized training in order to develop and/or maintain relevant job-related knowledge, techniques, skills and/or certification.
- Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects,



or non-compliance issues.
- Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
- In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act;

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Professional Engineering required.

Minimum 5 years of experience in related field, preferably in the automotive industry.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Strong organizational skills.

Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks.

Familiar with various legislation/codes (OHSA, EPA, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, etc.).

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to gather and analyze information.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.

Ability to manage flexible work schedule requirements.

Understanding of Lean manufacturing.

Sound leadership skills (previous supervisory/managerial experience required).
