Campus Living Centres is looking for a Maintenance Services Supervisor (MSS) to join our team!
As the MSS, you'll play a key role in maintaining the building, supporting your team, responding to repairs, coordinating contractors, and ensuring our residents, students, and guests have a safe and well-maintained environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular building and equipment inspections.
- Complete preventative maintenance, including filters, belts, bearings, equipment, and utility monitoring.
- Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs efficiently.
- Perform general plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, furniture, appliance, and building repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Support and coordinate outside contractors while on site.
- Respond to facility emergencies and participate in evening/weekend on-call responsibilities.
- Help ensure all maintenance activities meet health and safety requirements.
- Ensure appropriate PPE, WHMIS documentation, SDS information, training, and safety procedures are in place.
- Lead by example and provide support and direction to maintenance staff.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance/physical plant experience or equivalent.
- High School Diploma required; college diploma is an asset.
- Knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Robust commitment to health and safety.
This Role Is Hands-OnThis position requires someone comfortable with the physical demands of maintenance work, including:
- Climbing ladders and stairs.
- Moving furniture and appliances.
- Lifting up to 60 lbs. repeatedly.
- Working in confined spaces and awkward positions.
- Reaching overhead and performing repetitive tasks.
- Spending much of the day on your feet.
- Performing seasonal tasks such as snow removal.
