Toromont is looking for a Manager, Credit Risk & Operations to join our Concord Head Office. The Manager, Credit Risk & Operations would be involved with centralized leadership to oversee credit manager function specifically around credit application, credit limit management, AML, training and mentorship, and DSO performance.

$91,820.00 - $114,775.00 The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 30 credit analysts and collectors across multiple locations.
- Provide training, coaching, succession planning, and professional development support for Credit Supervisors and Credit Managers to strengthen capability across the organization.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and drive a high-accountability culture.
- Manage workload allocation, escalation protocols, and team capacity planning.
- Mentor emerging talent and support succession planning within the credit function.
- Establish and administer credit policies, risk frameworks, and approval authorities aligned with corporate risk appetite

- Align the credit process, policies, reporting standards, and overall approach across Battlefield, TMH, and TCat to ensure consistency, transparency, and stronger risk management across all businesses.
- Seek opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency, reduce manual administrative work, enhance reporting and analytics,



and support business growth without increasing headcount.
- Review and approve credit applications and customer credit limits above delegated thresholds

- Monitor portfolio quality, identify emerging risk concentrations, and recommend adjustments proactively
- Act as the AML subject matter resource, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, supporting reporting obligations, maintaining controls, and driving consistency in AML practices across the organization.
- Establish and maintain divisional risk assessment models that provide forecasting insights, identify vulnerable markets and customer segments, and support proactive risk mitigation strategies.

- Lead the annual credit review process, including governance, reporting, compliance monitoring, and execution, with a long-term objective of automating significant portions of the process through AI-enabled tools and workflows.
- Develop and maintain consolidated market intelligence, industry reporting, and economic trend analysis to help regions identify emerging risks, anticipate customer challenges, and make informed credit decisions.
- Partner with sales and operations leadership to balance credit risk with commercial objectives.

- Oversee the collections function across all business units, ensuring adherence to policy and targets.
- Drive DSO reduction initiatives and manage aging to established KPIs.
- Escalate and manage complex or disputed accounts, including legal referrals where necessary.

- Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of AR in coordination with the accounting team.
- Develop enterprise-level credit performance dashboards and key performance indicators to provide leadership with visibility into portfolio health, trends, exposures, collections performance, and emerging risks.




- Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices between regions and business units to drive continuous improvement in credit management processes and customer risk assessment.

- Prepare and present regular credit and collections reporting to senior finance leadership.
- Track and analyze portfolio metrics including DSO, bad debt exposure, write-off trends, and customer concentration.
- Provide commentary and insight to support CFO and VP Finance reporting cycles.

- Leverage ERP and credit management systems to drive efficiency and data quality.
- Collaborate with IT and finance systems teams on relevant technology upgrades or implementations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the credit and collections workflow.

Must-haves for this role:

- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Commerce
- Minimum 6 - 8 years' experience in Progressive credit and collections
- Strong communication skills and experience being client facing

- Proven track record of managing large volume AR portfolios and collections across large geography
- Background in industrial equipment, heavy equipment, B2B wholesale, or rental strongly preferred
- Credit Institute of Canada (CCP) designate or equivalent is an asset
