Overview:
Our Baseplant Engineering team has an exciting opportunity if you are an intermediate - experienced Mechanical Engineer! In this hands-on role, You’ll restore equipment, troubleshoot field failures, deliver timely work scopes, and support safe, reliable operations through integrity assessments and practical recommendations

Minimum Requirements:
- 4 years of relevant engineering experience
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Must be a registered Profession Engineer with APEGA
- Field experience supporting Maintenance and Operations in an industrial environment
- Technical strength and strong collaboration with client groups
- Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Responsibilities:
- Provide front-line support by troubleshooting equipment issues and preparing cost-effective repair scopes for onsite and offsite maintenance within the Production Unit
- Use risk reviews, HAZOPs, management of change processes, and other safety checks to improve equipment safety and reliability performance
- Support major events and turnarounds with technical oversight, plan reviews, repair scopes, scope deviation guidance, and prompt responses to information requests
- Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and lead minor plant and equipment modifications
- Develop technical evaluations for major equipment changes and projects using management of change and risk assessment
- Complete fitness-for-service assessments and recommend repair, replacement, or return to service
Location and other Key details:
- You will work out of our Suncor Base Plant located in Fort McMurray, AB
- Your shift will be Monday to Friday
