Job Summary

Dr. Mawji's office is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support, managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate records, and patient care. This position requires a robust understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in electronic medical records systems, specifically Practice Solutions (PPS).

Duties

- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Perform Blood Pressure and basic patient screening procedures
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Maintain and update patient records using electronic medical records systems
- Assist with OHIP verification and billing processes.
- Handle phone systems to manage incoming calls, answer inquiries, and provide information to patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and assist with administrative tasks as needed.




- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Skills

- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; Telus PS Suites
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the office.
- Previous experience in a dental office or medical office setting is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff members.
- Familiarity with phone systems and administrative duties related to office management.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
