Miner 1 – Lead Jumbo Operator – 2026-033
Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Miner 1 – Lead Jumbo Operator to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 7/7 rotation.

Using state-of-the-art equipment, as part of the Underground Development Team, the Miner 1 is responsible for creating and expanding the infrastructure within the mine, preparing it for production.

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct excavation and tunneling activities to create access tunnels, drifts, and ramps to reach ore bodies or mineral deposits.
- Install ground support systems, such as rock bolts, mesh, and shotcrete.
- Perform drilling and blasting operations for mining access.
- Set up ventilation systems and various mine services to ensure proper airflow and remove harmful gases.
- Operate the Sandvik Jumbo to drill and install ground support.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Inspect and maintain mining equipment regularly.
- Identify process improvements for efficiency and safety.
- Follow sustainable mining practices to minimize environmental impacts.
- Performing underground construction related work as required
- Leading and directing the development team.
- Collaborate with other site personnel to ensure smooth coordination and synchronization of development activities.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety protocols, promoting a solid safety culture among the development team.
- Maintain accurate records of development activities and progress.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED or a combination of education with a minimum of 8 years underground work experience
- 5+ years’ Jumbo experience in an underground mine environment.
- Additional 3+ years previous experience as a Lead Development Miner with demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in drilling, blasting, and installing ground support systems such as rock bolts, mesh, and shotcrete.
- Team player with a strong commitment to safety and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Familiarity with operating mining equipment, such as jumbo drills, mechanized bolters, LHD machines, scissor trucks and haul trucks.
- Ability to obtain a Blasting certification or license, in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Preference will be given to those either located near our McIlvenna Bay site and those in the province of Saskatchewan.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues related to ground conditions, drilling, and blasting challenges that may arise during mine development.
Compensation and Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
- Competitive Hourly Rate: $70.87 - $90.37/hr which includes a target-based monthly bonus
