Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Sprinkler Estimator to support the Fire Sprinkler Small Contract and Service teams across Canada. A National Sprinkler Estimator is a professional role focused primarily on assessing and projecting the costs associated with installing and maintaining sprinkler systems for residential, commercial, or industrial properties. This position involves a detailed analysis of project specifications, design plans, site conditions and customer expectations to estimate material, labor, and other costs.
The goal of a National Sprinkler Estimator is to provide accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals to our valued customers and clients.
Key Job Responsibilities:
· Project Analysis: Review and interpret project documents, blueprints, site conditions and customer requirements to accurately determine the scope of work for sprinkler system installation or maintenance.
· Cost Estimation: Calculate the costs of labor, materials, equipment, and any subcontracting needs for the project while ensuring all estimates are accurate and competitive.
· Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals, including the breakdown of costs, timelines, and any other relevant information required by the client or for internal project approval.
· Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and secure materials needed for projects at the best prices.
· Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all estimates and proposed project plans comply with local, Provincial, and National codes and regulations, including NFPA codes and standards. guidelines.
· Project Management Support: Collaborate with project managers and other team members to monitor project progress, adjust forecasts, and address any unforeseen changes in project scope or costs to ensure project success.
· Other duties as required.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience designing fire sprinkler systems.
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Construction management or a related field is often preferred.
· Prior experience in sprinkler system design, installation, or estimating is highly valued. Knowledge and familiarity with relevant NFPA fire codes is considered a strong asset.
· Minimum 2-4 years of experience with project management.
· Proficiency in estimating software, CAD software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong analytical and mathematical skills are crucial for creating accurate estimates.
· Ability to scrutinize project specifications and drawings meticulously to ensure accurate estimations.
· Precision and care in creating design plans and specifications. Technician Design layout experience is preferred
· In-depth knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and standards (; NFPA/NBC Building codes).
· Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex fire protection concepts and solutions.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and positive attitude.
· Self-motivated with a results-driven approach to achieving targets.
· Strong knowledge of computer based applications (Microsoft Office Suite etc.)
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Bilingual English and French
· Excellent problem solving skills
· Highly organized and able to work under pressure
· Adaptable to changing environments
· Strong interpersonal skills and effective at building relationships - with a demonstrated client service orientation
· Self-motivated with a genuinely positive outlook

This is a new vacancy and the salary range is between $80,000 to $100,000 depending on skills and experience.
