We are hiring for opportunities in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Ottawa, Ontario; St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador; and Victoria, British Columbia.
As a Naval Architect Engineer or Technologist at Fleetway, you'll contribute to the engineering and technical services that support the sustainment, modernization, and future development of Canada's naval fleet. Working alongside experienced naval experts, you'll apply your knowledge of ship design, structures, systems, and maintenance engineering to solve complex technical challenges and deliver solutions that support mission readiness and long-term fleet capability.
From supporting the maintenance and modernization of existing vessels to contributing to next-generation ship programs, you'll work in a collaborative and flexible environment that encourages continuous learning, technical excellence, and career growth. Responsibilities
- Analyze engineering changes and assess the impact of modifications to naval ships, systems, and equipment.
- Conduct technical investigations, engineering studies, and analyses to support vessel sustainment, modernization, and capability development.
- Prepare, review,
and provide technical input to engineering specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, and other project deliverables.
- Review, update, and maintain technical documentation for naval systems, equipment, and vessel configurations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, technical specialists, shipyard personnel, and clients to develop and implement engineering solutions.
- Support maintenance, repair, and modernization activities for Canada's naval fleet and future shipbuilding programs.
- Contribute to project planning, technical reviews, and the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and eligibility for, or possession of, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (Engineer roles); or
- Diploma in Engineering Technology (Technologist roles).
Experience:
- Relevant experience in naval architecture, ship design, defence, shipbuilding, or other complex engineering and technical environments.
- Experience with, or exposure to, 3D modeling and/or 2D drafting software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
