: As a valued Employee of SHA, the general duty nurse has responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client care. The registered nurse is a competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status. As a skilled the general duty nurse demonstrates a caring approach, including an understanding of the nursing process, a conceptual model for practice and SHA philosophy, objectives and standards.

Experience
- Acute Care experience preferred.
Education
- Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work within established policies and procedures
- Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
- Ability to apply methods and principles of nursing process
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge in applicable principles of nursing process and interventions
- Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting workload to accommodate variable needs
- Ability to perform the functions of the position, after orientation
