Heat Pump Installation Apprentice (HVAC/R)

All Yukon Refrigeration is looking for a motivated Apprentice who can actively contribute to heat pump installations right away. We’re the Yukon’s leading HVAC/R company (30+ years) and do a high volume of cold-climate heat pump installs (residential + commercial), dual-fuel systems, and related work across Whitehorse and the surrounding communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
Assist with and progressively take on installation of air-source heat pumps (ducted and ductless), including outdoor units, indoor heads/air handlers, line sets, condensate, electrical connections, and controls
Help with system commissioning, basic charging, and startup under supervision
Work on dual-fuel / hybrid systems common in the Yukon
Support site preparation, equipment placement, mounting, and clean professional finishes
Assist with service calls and preventative maintenance as needed
Keep a clean, organized job site and complete basic paperwork/photos
Travel to job sites around Whitehorse and occasionally further into the Yukon

What We’re Looking For
Currently registered (or willing to register)



as an apprentice in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic (or closely related trade)
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to install heat pump systems (even if still learning the finer points)
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean abstract
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in Yukon conditions, lifting equipment, working at heights, and being on your feet all day
Reliable, safety-conscious, and easy to work with
Tools and basic PPE are a plus

Nice to have (not required):
Previous experience with heat pumps (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Moovair, Fujitsu, etc.)
Any gas, electrical, or sheet metal experience
Safety tickets (Fall Arrest, First Aid, etc.)
2nd year or higher preferred, but robust 1st years with real hands-on ability will be considered
