Dental Assistant – Monday to Thursday

One-Year Maternity Leave Position | Starting August 2026

South Coast Dental Care is looking for a friendly, dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team for a one-year maternity leave position. This position has the potential to lead to permanent employment.

This position offers a consistent Monday-to-Thursday schedule with no weekends. We are a busy, established, patient-focused dental practice where teamwork, kindness and quality care are genuinely valued.

Position details
Monday to Thursday
No evenings or weekends
Starting August 2026 - September 2027
Initial one-year maternity leave position
Potential to become a permanent position

Responsibilities
Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general dental procedures
Prepare operatories, instruments and materials for treatment
Take digital radiographs
Follow current sterilization and IPAC protocols
Maintain accurate and complete patient records
Assist with impressions, laboratory work and other clinical duties
Help keep the clinical day organized and running smoothly
Provide warm, compassionate care to our patients
Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienists and administrative team





What we are looking for
Level II Dental Assistant certification (preferred)
Current HARP certification
Current CPR certification
Strong knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
Dependable, organized and able to anticipate the needs of the dentist
Friendly and professional with excellent communication skills
Comfortable working in a busy general dental practice
Previous dental assisting experience is an asset; confident new graduates are also encouraged to apply
Experience with ClearDent is an asset
