Title: Dry Cleaner

Job Summary:

Dry clean garments using prescribed methods of classification and inspection.

Operate dry cleaning machine.

Maintain dry cleaning machine and work area.

Essential Functions:

Check boiler, air compressor, water, and vacuum supply.

Clean button and lint trap.

Prepare dry cleaning machine for day's operation.

Check for leaks.

Determine cleanability.

Classify garments in loads.

Weigh load and record weight.

Loan machine.

Select proper cleaning and drying cycle.

Monitor functions of machine.

Unload machine, inspect and hang garments.

Distribute to appropriate finishing stations.

Maintain solvent and filters.

Maintain required records.

Inventory and re-order supplies as necessary.

Maintain work area.

Accountability:

Know how boiler and air compressor operate.

Know how dry cleaning machines operate.

know maintenance procedures for dry cleaning machine.

Comply with environmental regulations.

Have knowledge of care labels, fibres, fabric construction, dyes and pigments, and finishes.





Follow load capacity recommendations for the dry cleaning machine.

Maintain poundage charts.

Monitor cleaning cycle to prevent malfunctions.

Able to maintain proper workflow.

Know solvent maintenance and environmentally safe practice.

Must be certified and in compliance with Ontario Regulation332/94 which states that

no person shall operate dry cleaning equipment at a commercial establishment unless

a trained person is working full time and has successfully completed an approved

course within the past five years.

Know and keep required records.

Follow company policy when ordering chemicals and supplies.

Job Specifications:

Able to stand for long hours.

Able to lift 50 lbs.

Valuable hand-eye coordination.

Expert knowledge of fabrics.

Must follow appropriate safety practices.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
