Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Assistant to support our medical research team in conducting a long-term clinical study comparing two surgical approaches to thyroidectomy. This role involves assisting with data collection, managing research documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in research methodologies, data management, and medical terminology, with a passion for advancing healthcare through clinical research. Responsibilities:
Assist in recruiting and screening study participants according to protocol guidelines
Collect, record, and manage clinical data accurately and securely across multiple hospitals
Ensure proper documentation of all research activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information
Monitor participant safety and report adverse events in accordance with regulatory requirements
Support the preparation of study materials and assist during patient visits or procedures




Collaborate with research team members to ensure adherence to study protocols and timelines
Maintain compliance with institutional review board (IRB) regulations and Positive Clinical Practice (GCP) standards

Experience:
Prior experience in research or clinical settings is preferred, particularly in healthcare or medical research environments
Knowledge of data management systems and electronic health records (EHR) is advantageous
Comfort with the operating room workplace is required
Ability to commute to Burnaby Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital is required
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical trial protocols is beneficial
Strong analysis skills to interpret data accurately and identify trends or discrepancies
Previous exposure to data collection methods, regulatory compliance, and patient interaction will enhance effectiveness in this role.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
