Engineer-E2 – Generation OT Services
Location: Edmonds, BC – Hybrid
Contract: August 24, 2026 – August 23, 2028
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Max INC Rate: $60.80/
Max T4 Rate: $51.53/
Role Overview
BC Hydro is seeking an Engineer-E2 to support Generation Capital Project OT Services from design through implementation and commissioning. Working under the supervision of senior engineering professionals, this role will support engineering design, industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), network infrastructure, cybersecurity, project coordination, and field implementation activities. The successful candidate will contribute to safe, reliable, and compliant engineering solutions while supporting capital, maintenance, lifecycle replacement, and cybersecurity projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Generation Capital Project OT Services activities from design through implementation and commissioning.
- Support engineering and construction teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Act as a primary contact for project status, tracking, technical coordination, and deliverables.
- Design, implement, and support ICS and OT network solutions for generation facilities.
- Develop and maintain ICS network architectures supporting operational, cybersecurity, reliability, and business requirements.
- Design and integrate ICS devices and communications equipment into generation plant LANs.
- Support capital, maintenance, lifecycle replacement, and cybersecurity projects related to generation infrastructure and control systems.
- Participate in engineering design reviews, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and field implementation.
- Liaise with engineering, planning, operations, maintenance, technology, and cybersecurity teams to define technical requirements and engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and document device functionality, technical requirements, and integration capabilities.
- Update and maintain generation network infrastructure drawings and engineering documentation using AutoCAD.
- Support plant LAN design, device integration, and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) work packages.
- Support NERC CIP compliance activities, including annual drawing reviews, technical assessments, and engineering documentation updates.
- Create and maintain work instructions, technical procedures, and job aids related to OT services.
- Host cross-functional meetings, document decisions, track action items, and support completion of project deliverables.
- Provide periodic field support, site assessments, and construction quality assurance to verify compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
Qualifications
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) at the time of submission.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, including technical reports, engineering documentation, and process diagrams.
- Ability to present technical information effectively to project teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), and communications networks is an asset.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience supporting capital projects, maintenance programs, or industrial infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP standards and compliance is an asset.
- Advanced Excel and Visio skills are considered assets.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong professional English communication skills, both written and spoken.

- EGBC registrants must comply with BC Hydro's Professional Practice Management Plan and Quality Management requirements.
- The successful candidate must be eligible to work within applicable Engineers and Geoscientists BC requirements.
- Occasional field/site work may be required.
