About the Opportunity

Iris & Oak is a new independent optical boutique in Burlington, Ontario, with dedicated space for an independently operated optometric practice.

We are seeking an Ontario-licensed optometrist who wants the freedom to operate their own practice without the overhead of opening a standalone clinic.

Two Versatile Options

- Sessional practice: One or two consistent days per week
- Dedicated practice: Multiple days or full-time use of a private examination room The optometrist may bring a complete portable equipment setup or install and securely maintain their equipment onsite.

Professional Independence

This is an independent practice opportunity, not salaried employment.

The Optometrist will:

- Maintain complete control over clinical decisions, scheduling and professional fees




- Conduct their own private and OHIP billing
- Own and maintain all optometric patient records as the Health Information Custodian
- Provide and maintain the clinical equipment required for their services
- Maintain professional liability insurance and all required registrations
- Retain their professional billings
- Operate under a written independent-contractor and space-use agreement The space fee will be fixed and will not be based on professional billings, patient volume or eyewear sales. Patients will remain free to purchase eyewear from any provider.

Qualifications

- Registered and in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario
- Eligible to provide and bill for optometric services in Ontario
- Committed to ethical, independent and patient-centred care
- Comfortable operating an independent practice and managing professional billing and records
- Owns appropriate clinical equipment or is prepared to install equipment onsite
- New graduates and established optometrists are welcome to apply
