Position Overview For over 40 years, East Oshawa Animal Hospital has been a trusted part of the Durham community. As a Veterinary Assistant, your role is to support our veterinarians and technicians in providing the highest standard of care to our patients and clients. You’ll play an essential part in ensuring the smooth operation of appointments, maintaining hospital cleanliness and organization, and delivering compassionate client service.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain hospital cleanliness and appearance, including patient kennels and common areas.
- Prepare in-patient zones (whiteboard, kennels, etc.)

- Safely and compassionately restrain a variety of species during appointments and procedures.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and treatments.
- Process client check-in and billings.
- Provide client education on hospital protocols, treatment plans, and preventive care (parasite control, diet, grooming, behavior, common procedures, etc.).
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and following upkeep checklists.
- Assist with laundry and other clinic duties as required.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
