Job Overview

The Participant Recruiter is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the site. The Participant Recruiter is responsible for the implementation and coordination of all participant recruitment and participant database management for research studies conducted at Apex Trials and raising general awareness of Apex Trials in Guelph and surrounding communities. Part time - casual Role

Primary Responsibilities

- Fields all initial participant phone and web screenings and inputs/regularly updates all relevant participant information into the participant database in order to ensure the most accurate database possible
- Identifies potential participants for enrolling in studies and contacts them and confirms their interest in clinical studies
- Promptly returns all phone calls/email responses to interested participants
- Works with the Lead Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) for clinical studies to develop a recruitment plan and process for use in screening new participants
- Assists with participant database queries in screening and follow up with eligible candidates
- Coordinates with CRCs to ensure appropriate follow up has occurred for all screened participants
- Coordinates with CRCs and effectively schedules recent participant screening visits and on-going study visits (where needed)
- Establishes and maintains effective communication with participant and site staff
- Aids in planning and managing general recruitment efforts and community awareness for Apex Trials




- Manages social media outlets to support recruitment i.e., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
- Works on enrollment and retention initiatives with other site staff
- Promotes GXP compliance across the organization
- Other duties as required & as training and experience allow
- Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the Company’s standards

- Proficient in computer software applications including the entire Microsoft Office Suite of programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and the ability to learn and master existing applications (i.e. PS Suite) and all future software applications and programs that may be integrated
- Working knowledge of ICH-GCP and Health Canada regulations pertaining to clinical research
- Experience with managing social media platforms is an asset

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, life sciences or health administration, or a related discipline

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
