Position Title: Primary Care Paramedic
Location: Saint-François, NB
Status: Part time permanent
Hours of Work: Rotating days and nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary Range: As per collective agreement
Language Requirement: Written & Spoken competence in English or French is required.

Ambulance New Brunswick is the provincial ambulance service provider, responding to the 911 system and transporting patients to hospital by ambulance. Approximately 130,000 calls per year are handled, including specialized air ambulance transfers.
Duties of Position
Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Primary Care Paramedics are based on the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP), Paramedic Association of New Brunswick registration requirements, and Ambulance NB policies. Paramedics provide medical support on scene and en route to hospitals, performing emergency techniques and medical treatments to patients in unpredictable field conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or work permit)
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team and to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record
- High regard for confidentiality and patient safety
- Completion of a Primary Care Paramedic program/course of over six months; or interest in pursuing a registered paramedic program in Atlantic Canada
- Registered and active Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent)
Additional Requirements for Your Application
- Current resume and cover letter
- Copy of your PCP diploma from an accredited institution
- Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to working as a paramedic within the last 12 months
- Proof of valid CPR Level C certification issued in the last 12 months
- Photocopy of front and back of valid Class 4 driver’s license (or equivalent) with at least one year of driving experience
- Driver's abstract issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP or equivalent) issued within the last three years
- Criminal record with vulnerable sector check issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization record (Tetanus Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB Skin Test) current within specified time frames
- Valid official language assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post‑secondary Education, Training and Labour
