Responsibilities
Measure clients accurately using standard tailoring tools to ensure accurate fitting adjustments
Alter and repair garments according to customer specifications, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing zippers or buttons
Consult with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styles
Maintain a clean, organized workspace with all necessary tools and supplies readily available
Manage multiple tailoring projects simultaneously while adhering to quality standards and deadlines
Communicate clearly with customers about progress, timelines, and any additional recommendations
Follow safety procedures when handling sewing machines, cutting tools, and other equipment to ensure a safe working workplace
Experience
Basic math skills for taking measurements and calculating fabric requirements accurately
Previous experience in tailoring, garment alteration or related craftsmanship is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated learners
Strong customer service skills with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively
Ability to work with various fabrics and materials while maintaining high-quality standards
Attention to detail and steady hand-eye coordination for precise stitching and adjustments
