Turn Data Into Better Manufacturing.

At Spectra, we're committed to delivering high-quality aluminum products through innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. As a growing Canadian manufacturer with five facilities across Ontario, we're expanding our Engineering team and looking for a Process Engineer to help improve the performance, efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes.

In this role, you'll work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Operations to analyze manufacturing performance, solve process challenges and turn data into practical improvements. From process optimization and root cause analysis to production trials and new process development, your work will have a direct impact on quality, productivity, cost and operational performance.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being close to the operation, digging into how and why processes perform the way they do and turning opportunities into measurable results.

What You'll Do

- Analyze manufacturing processes and production data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, throughput and cost.
- Develop, implement and optimize manufacturing processes to maximize production resources and support operational goals.
- Monitor process inputs and outputs, identify significant process variation and implement corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to process performance, quality and production issues.
- Plan and execute process improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation and validation.
- Conduct production trials, collect and analyze data and recommend improvements based on results.
- Develop and maintain process controls, procedures, work instructions and other technical documentation.
- Partner cross-functionally to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support the development, implementation and validation of new processes, equipment and product requirements.

- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste, improve process capability and increase operational efficiency.
- Track process performance and communicate findings, recommendations and project results to key stakeholders.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You...

- Enjoy digging into data and understanding the root cause behind manufacturing challenges.
- Like balancing analytical engineering work with hands-on involvement on the production floor.
- Naturally question how things are done and look for smarter, more efficient ways of working.
- Enjoy collaborating with different teams to turn ideas into practical solutions.
- Are organized and comfortable managing multiple improvement projects and priorities.
- Take ownership of results and enjoy seeing the measurable impact of your work.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
- Experience with process improvement, process optimization, data analysis or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, process controls or Six Sigma methodologies is considered an asset.
- Experience with process documentation, production trials, process validation or statistical analysis is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems is considered an asset.

What Success Looks Like In this role, you'll know you're making an impact when you:

- Deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency, quality, throughput and cost.
- Reduce process variation and recurring production issues through effective analysis and corrective action.
- Use production data to identify opportunities and turn them into sustainable process improvements.
- Successfully implement and validate process changes that improve manufacturing performance.
- Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Operations.
- Help create a culture where continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making are part of how we work every day.

Why Join Spectra?

At Spectra, our engineers have the chance to see their work make a real impact on the manufacturing floor. You'll join an experienced Operations team with exposure to a broad range of manufacturing processes, technologies and improvement initiatives while continuing to build your technical expertise.

What We Offer

- Exposure to a wide range of manufacturing processes and engineering challenges.
- Hands-on opportunities to lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- The opportunity to learn from experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals with deep industry expertise.
- Cross-functional exposure to Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Operations.
- A collaborative environment where your ideas and technical expertise are valued.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
