DAANAA
Procurement Specialist
About Us:
Daanaa is a Vancouver-based fabless power electronics and semiconductor company on a mission to build a simpler, efficient future in energy generation, storage, distribution, consumption, and management, for generations ahead. The company is in the early commercialization stages of deep tech power conversion and control technologies, offering innovative solutions to OEMs in multiple industries, including solar energy, electric vehicles, and data centers.
Daanaa's value is derived from its transformative Power Transaction Unit (PTU) that consolidates power electronic functions—from bi-directional conversion and amplification to management, transfer, diagnostics, and control—onto a single, high-power-density, high-efficiency, low-profile, scalable, reliable, and safe module.
We are growing here at Daanaa and are looking for a Procurement Specialist to help build and scale our engineering procurement function. In this role, you will manage the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships required to support the development and commercialization of Daanaa’s advanced power electronics technologies. You will work closely with engineering, finance, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure critical electronic components are available, supply chain risks are managed, and products move efficiently from prototype development through production.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and manage Daanaa’s engineering procurement function by consolidating component purchasing activities and establishing scalable procurement processes.
- Source and manage electronic components including semiconductors, power ICs, PCBs, passive components, connectors, and other hardware required for product development and manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, distributors, and manufacturing partners to improve pricing, lead times, component availability, and access to critical inventory.
- Manage supplier communications, purchase orders, order tracking, and delivery schedules to ensure engineering programs remain on schedule.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, evaluate sourcing alternatives, and identify supply chain risks related to component selection and availability.
- Support PCB procurement workflows, including coordination with PCB manufacturers, assembly partners, and suppliers to ensure components and production requirements are aligned.
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to coordinate component availability, assembly readiness, manufacturing schedules, and production requirements.
- Manage domestic and international logistics, including shipping, customs documentation, import/export requirements,
and compliance documentation for prototype and production hardware.
- Collaborate with Finance to manage procurement expenses, support budgeting activities, and improve visibility into purchasing costs.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, procurement processes, and purchasing strategies to support Daanaa’s growth from development through commercialization.
You should apply if…
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain roles supporting electronics or hardware product development.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, including semiconductors, power devices, ICs, capacitors, resistors, connectors, and PCB assemblies.
- Experience working directly with electronics suppliers and distributors such as Texas Instruments, DigiKey, Mouser, Arrow, Avnet, or similar organizations.
- Understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly workflows, including component sourcing, SMT processes, and contract manufacturing operations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and understand technical trade-offs related to component selection, availability, cost, and performance.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, improving lead times, and resolving supply chain challenges.
- Familiarity with international shipping, customs processes, import/export documentation, and logistics management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple suppliers, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to build processes and solve problems in an early-stage technology company.
