Position Summary
Oversees daily production, optimizes resources, ensures safety and quality, and leads a team in a 24/5 unionized environment. Reports to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and execute daily schedules to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment; resolve bottlenecks and disruptions.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Enforce safety standards, lead safety talks, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable; manage time/attendance and overtime.
- Complete daily production, grinding, and scrap reports; track KPIs and drive improvements.
- Ensure equipment checks, PMs, and accurate work orders; maintain effective shift handoffs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support protected, efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience in manufacturing/industrial operations (foundry/metals an asset).
- Strong leadership, decision-making,
problem-solving, and communication skills.
- ERP/work order and Microsoft Office proficiency; accurate reporting and email communication.
- Ability to work on the floor (hot, dusty, noisy) with required PPE; stand/walk for extended periods.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak); clean‑shaven for respirator fit testing.
Schedule
- Full-time; 8.5-hour shifts on a three‑shift rotation (24/5), typically rotating every two weeks:
- Day: 6:45–3:15 or 7:00–3:30 (B)
- Afternoon/Evening: 2:45–11:15 or 3:00–11:30 (C)
- Night: 10:45–7:15 or 11:00–7:30, Sun–Thu (A)
- Occasional Saturday overtime based on operational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,000–$68,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
