With approximately 10,000 employees, Dufferin-Peel is one of the largest employers in the region.Position SummaryThe Custodian works with the Lead Hand/Head Custodian and other Custodial staff in the care and operation of the physical plant facilities. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of school buildings and equipment; ensuring compliance with Board, local and provincial government operational and health and safety standards. Duties may include but not limited to; reporting malfunctions of heating and ventilating equipment to the Head Custodian and appropriate supervisor personnel, removing debris and dangerous articles from the school; including the outdoor areas; removing snow from entrances and walkways and applying salt/sand,



cuts grass and maintains gardens as well as general cleaning responsibilities.Skills And QualificationsSecondary School Diploma or equivalentGood interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of staff and students.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to prioritize the completion of custodial activities in assigned areas within the school.Previous cleaning and/or custodial experienceMust be compliant with Board policies and procedures as well as Health and Safety guidelinesInternal ApplicantsResume not required - Click ApplyExternal Applicant InformationResume must be included in your application to be considered**All newly hired employees shall be required to complete custodial training as part of the onboarding process.
