About the Opportunity

Mercor is seeking psychology experts to contribute to advanced AI research projects by developing and reviewing high-quality academic assessment content. This role involves creating rigorous psychology questions, evaluating solution quality, and helping establish benchmark datasets that improve the reasoning capabilities of next-generation AI systems.

Ideal Candidates

- PhD, PsyD, or Doctoral Candidate in Psychology or a closely related field.
- Master's degree considered for candidates with exceptional expertise in a relevant subdomain.
- Strong background in psychological theory, research methodology, and empirical research.
- Expertise in areas such as Psychometrics, Human Factors Psychology, Consumer Psychology, Digital Health, Neuromorphic Engineering, or Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy.
- Research publications, clinical experience, or teaching experience is highly preferred.




- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Author challenging multiple-choice psychology questions that assess deep conceptual understanding.
- Create explicit, self-contained questions with one correct answer and plausible alternative responses.
- Write detailed reasoning and reference solutions for each question.
- Review and verify existing questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, and solvability.
- Rate question difficulty and provide supporting academic references.
- Help develop gold-standard benchmarks used to evaluate advanced AI systems.

Project Details

- Start Date: Immediate
- Commitment: 10+ hours per week
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous

Compensation

- Competitive compensation of $50–$63/hour.
