Overview
PortfolioAid is looking for a skilled quality assurance analyst. Portfolio Aid implements medium- to large-sized projects deploying PortfolioAid’s suite of RegTech and WealthTech software solutions. Servicing Canada’s leading wealth management firms, PortfolioAid is looking for industry professionals that want to help PortfolioAid achieve its goal of protecting the financial freedom of every Canadian investor.
Reports to: Manager, QA & Client Services
Principal duties of the job
· Designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures
· Developing test programs that address database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error/defect retests, and/or application usability
· Testing application modifications
· Documenting software defects using a defect-tracking system and reporting defects to software developers/project team
· Identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program functions, output, online screens, and/or content
· Creating and/or maintaining databases of known test defects
· Planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and/or delivery dates
· Participating in product design reviews and providing input on 1) functional requirements, 2) product designs, 3) schedules, and/or 4) potential problems
· Reviewing software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness
· Assisting quality assurance analysts and developers at other skill levels, as needed, to ensure timely releases of high-quality code
· Achieving a service-focused culture with emphasis on timely delivery of high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.
Essential Qualifications
· Minimum 1 year of quality assurance or computer programming experience
· Minimum 1 year of SQL and scripting experience
· University degree or community college diploma in a related field such as computer science/IT
· Strong English language written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledgeable on the principles, practices, and procedures of quality assurance testing and the ability to apply said knowledge and skills to a range of professional assignments
· Ability to design, write, test, and document productive testing solutions to meet customer needs
· Ability to change process execution during product line testing
· Ability to analyze large data sets, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions
· Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
· Ability to work well independently
· Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office
· Experience in a client-server environment
· Keen attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge of Agile development methodology
· Experience using Selenium WebDriver or equivalent tool
French language written and verbal communication skills
