Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position based in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Symtech is seeking an experienced Pursuit Manager to support the development of complex healthcare, institutional, and public infrastructure projects across Ontario.
This is not a proposal coordination or marketing role.
The successful candidate will lead design-assist and preconstruction activities, facilitate stakeholder discussions, develop technical solutions, manage vendor and trade partner engagement, identify value engineering opportunities, coordinate estimating efforts, and contribute to the delivery of complete and competitive submissions for major healthcare and P3 projects.
The Pursuit Manager will regularly engage with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and consortium partners to identify project risks, evaluate technical solutions, and develop strategies that improve constructability, competitiveness, and overall project value.
This role is best suited for individuals with strengths in design management, estimating, constructability review, value engineering, and risk mitigation.
Multiple positions are available within our Electrical, Mechanical, and ICAT divisions.

QualificationsIdeal candidates will possess many of the following qualifications: Experience & Credentials
- 2-10 years of experience in the construction industry, working for a consultant, contractor, owner, or design-builder on complex construction projects.
- Experience working on projects valued in excess of $100 million.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare, institutional, mission-critical, transit, or P3 projects. Healthcare experience is considered a significant asset.
- Experience leading meetings and coordinating activities with architects, engineers, clients, owners, and trade partners.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation preferred.
Relevant trade qualifications and industry experience will also be considered.
- Candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong junior candidates demonstrating technical aptitude, initiative, and a desire to develop expertise in estimating, design management, and pursuit leadership will also be considered.
Technical Skills
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical project requirements.
- Solid understanding of MEP and/or ICAT construction means, methods, and systems.
- Experience identifying constructability challenges and developing value engineering solutions.
- Understanding of contract structures, commercial risk, and project delivery methodologies.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Software Proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with estimating software and digital take-off platforms.
- Experience with Bluebeam, BIM coordination, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, or model-based estimating tools is considered an asset.

- Contribute meaningfully to major healthcare, institutional, and infrastructure pursuits.
- Assist in developing pursuit strategies, pricing approaches, and risk mitigation plans.
- Facilitate productive meetings with owners, consultants, consortium partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and opportunities early in the pursuit process.
- Help deliver competitive submissions with clearly defined scope and minimal gaps.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Symtech's pursuit processes, tools, and win strategies.
