ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: QUALITY SYSTEMS LEAD
We are looking for a Quality Systems Lead to play a key role in strengthening, maintaining, and continuously improving our Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting a culture of quality, accountability, and operational excellence across the organization.
This is a highly collaborative role for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple business entities. The successful candidate will bring strong quality systems expertise while also being able to translate standards and requirements into practical processes that work for our people and our business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Quality Management System
- Lead the growth, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with applicable standards, customer requirements, and business objectives.
- Develop, review, update, and control quality policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and processes to ensure they are current, effective, and consistently applied.
- Identify QMS gaps, risks, and opportunities and partner with departments to implement practical improvements and standardization.
Audits & Compliance
- Plan, coordinate, and support internal, external, customer, and certification audits, maintaining schedules, documentation, findings, and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate responses to audit findings and non-conformances, partnering with process owners to develop, implement, and verify effective corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures while proactively identifying areas of risk.
Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement
- Lead ISO, CSA, CAPA, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities, ensuring corrective actions address systemic issues and are implemented effectively.
- Analyze quality trends, audit findings, customer feedback,
and operational data to identify opportunities to reduce quality risks, rework, waste, and process inefficiencies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen processes, improve consistency, and enhance operational and customer outcomes.
Document & Record Control
- Manage quality documentation and records, ensuring information is accurate, current, accessible, appropriately controlled, and retained in accordance with business and compliance requirements.
- Oversee document review, approval, revision, distribution, and control of obsolete information while maintaining quality databases, trackers, registers, and reporting systems.
- Support departments in maintaining appropriate quality records and ensuring employees have access to the correct documentation.
Quality Reporting & Awareness
- Develop and maintain quality KPIs, dashboards, and reports, using data to identify trends, risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular quality updates and recommendations to leadership, including key issues, trends, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
- Support quality training and awareness programs, providing practical guidance to employees and leaders while promoting a culture where quality is a shared responsibility.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and other teams to address quality requirements, resolve issues, and improve processes.
- Support customer and supplier quality requirements and participate in operational improvement initiatives where quality, risk management, and process consistency are key.
- Build strong relationships across the organization and act as a trusted resource for quality-related questions, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL
- A strong, effective QMS: You establish and maintain a quality system that is practical, well-controlled, audit-ready, and aligned with applicable standards, customer requirements, and the needs of the business.
- Proactive quality leadership: You identify risks, trends, and gaps before they become larger issues, lead effective corrective actions, and use data and root-cause analysis to drive sustainable improvements.
- Cross-functional influence: You build strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and other teams,
helping embed quality as a shared responsibility across the organization.
- Supporting growth and compliance: You help TPS endeavors to successfully meet evolving quality and regulatory requirements, including current CSA and nuclear, power generation, and defense sector quality requirements, while supporting the quality systems and continued growth of our organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality systems, or quality management, with a proven track record in developing, maintaining, and improving QMS frameworks within a technical, engineering, manufacturing, construction, energy, or regulated environment.
- Post-secondary education in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management principles, including audits, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, document control, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with CSA standards and/or nuclear, power generation, and defense sector quality requirements is strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting organizations through evolving regulatory or certification requirements.
