Seeds to Sprouts Childcare Centre is seeking a passionate and dependable Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Child & Youth Care (CYC) skilled to join our School Age Program team.
This position is a maternity leave coverage with strong potential for continued employment following the leave period.
Position Overview The successful candidate will support our before and after school program for children aged 4–12 years. You will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes independence, leadership, and positive peer relationships.
During the month of March, the successful applicant will train within the program during afternoon hours to ensure a smooth transition into the full split-shift schedule beginning April 10.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programming
- Foster respectful and positive relationships with children and families
- Maintain open communication with parents and school partners
- Complete required documentation in accordance with licensing regulations and centre policies
- Use positive behavior guidance strategies
- Maintain a clean and organized program environment
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (if RECE)
OR Diploma/Degree in Child & Youth Care
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working with school-age children is an asset
