Duties
- Set up and lead recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, music, and outings
- Support residents during activities, ensuring safety and engagement
- Foster social interaction among residents to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Assist with daily routines as needed, including mobility support and companionship
- Collaborate with care staff to coordinate activities that complement residents’ care plans
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area
- Communicate effectively with residents,
family members, and team members to promote a positive environment
- Observe and report on residents’ participation and any changes in their condition or behavior
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care and caregiving best practices is a plus
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively within a caregiving team
- Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding for seniors’ needs
- Ability to assist with mobility support and engage residents in meaningful activities
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to enhancing residents’ quality of life
