Job Summary The Whistling Wind Wellness home is a 9-bed 16 week male youth residential addiction treatment home. The home has three shifts: 7 am- 3pm, 3pm- 11Pm and 11pm- 8 am. Residential Wellness Workers support and supervise youth through their recovery journey while implementing and facilitating programming.
Duties
- Support and supervise youth in a residential setting.
- Engage with individuals with disabilities through personalized teaching sessions that promote independence and skill development.
- Lead educational workshops to raise awareness about recovery strategies.
- Support clients in developing coping skills, setting achievable goals, and navigating challenges on their path to wellness.
- Attend programming such AA/NA meetings with youth as well as Sweat Lodge Ceremonies, Sundance, etc.
- Foster a welcoming workplace that encourages open communication, trust, and active participation in recovery programs.
- Develop creative and innovative ways to implement programming.
- Facilitate and develop recreational activities such as work programs and sports activities
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in mental health support roles is highly desirable.
- Experience working with Justice involved youth.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and report data effectively.
- Experience in teaching or facilitating group activities that promote learning and personal growth.
- Experience and knowledge of twelve step community (I.e. lived experience )
- Knowledge, practice and experience with indigenous culture and ceremony.
- Must have drivers license and car for work
- Recent (3 month) Criminal record check and abuse registry check
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
