The Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse (RN) works in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, multi-modality workplace.
Responsibilities are to educate and prepare patients undergoing a variety of Diagnostic Imaging Procedures. The nurse works collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, to evaluate the patient’s condition and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This position will share equally in any shift, weekend, or on-call responsibilities that may be expected.
Additionally, they work collaboratively with radiologists and technologists to monitor and provide care during these procedures. The RN is guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level and Alberta Health Services policies, procedures and .
Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.
PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour.
Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications
Must be able to wear a lead apron (15-20lbs) for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to take a considerably high volume of call on evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. Must be able to perform a considerable amount of patient transfers each shift. Interventional scrub training is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Critical Care Experience is an asset.
