The Complex Care unit provides care through a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, physicians, dietitian, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. The philosophy of care is applied in a senior friendly care environment. As an integral member of the health care team, the Registered Practical Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice of a RPN to patients with chronic and progressive illness and disabilities.
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses as a Registered Practical Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Recent experience working with patient with chronic and progressive illness
- RPN Added Nursing Skills course
- Certificate in Medication Administration
- Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and other members of the health care team in a skilled, caring manner
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated excellent in communication skills, interpersonal skill and problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
