We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QC Inspector to join our team. We welcome applications from both junior and experienced candidates who are looking to grow their careers in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
The QC Inspector will report directly to the QC Manager and play a key role in ensuring fabrication activities meet company, client, and code requirements. The successful candidate will work throughout the fabrication process, collaborating with various departments to enhance product quality and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
Perform in-process and final inspections of pressure vessels, piping, skids, and fabricated components.
Verify compliance with applicable codes, drawings, specifications, and procedures
Review material traceability and fabrication documentation
Coordinate and monitor welding, fit-up, dimensional, and visual inspections
Prepare and maintain quality control records and reports
Assist with NCRs, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives
Record and maintain travel sheets and checklists in accordance with the QMS
Review and log NDE reports and results
Provide assistance and interact with client and jurisdictional inspectors in the course of their inspections.
Qualifications
Junior or experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Willing to train the right candidate with a journeyman trade ticket, good organizational and computer skills.
Experience in vessel and piping fabrication
Knowledge of ASME codes, welding processes, and fabrication practices preferred
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Good computer skills
CWB, CGSB, or related quality certifications are an asset but not necessary
Requirements
Must have the physical ability to enter and work within the confines of a pressure vessel through a manway opening
Must be able to carry out light labour related to moving piping and materials to gather inspection information
Ability to work safely in a fabrication shop environment
