Partner at Minted Search Group | Legal + Accounting | No Pressure Just Possibilities About the Opportunity An established Toronto law firm is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Real Estate Associate (3–5 years’ experience) to join its Commercial Real Estate Group , which handles a broad range of sophisticated real estate and development matters.
The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of post-call experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of income-producing properties . This role offers the opportunity to act for a court officer on a large-scale, complex real estate matter valued at approximately $1 billion , requiring sound judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to manage high-value transactions with precision and efficiency.
You will work closely with senior counsel on all aspects of the transaction lifecycle — from structuring and due diligence to closing and implementation — while managing discrete workstreams independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment .
Key Responsibilities Draft, negotiate, and manage agreements for the acquisition, sale, and financing of commercial, industrial, and development properties.
Conduct and supervise due diligence , including title and off-title searches, corporate and zoning reviews, and related transactional analysis.
Prepare and review closing documentation, statements of adjustments, and conveyancing materials .
Advise court officers and institutional clients on complex real estate, corporate,



and regulatory issues.
Coordinate with opposing counsel, lenders, brokers, and governmental authorities .
Manage multiple active files and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met with accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications LL.B. or J.D. , and member in valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario .
3 to 5 years of direct experience in commercial real estate law (not a lending role).
Proven experience in acquisitions, dispositions, development transactions, and commercial financing .
Strong technical proficiency with title, land registration, and corporate structuring issues.
Excellent drafting, analytical, and transactional management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on large, multi-party matters.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a practical, client-focused approach.
