We are seeking a dedicated Poultry Catcher/Vaccinator to join our team . This role involves handling live poultry, ensuring their health through proper vaccination, and maintaining efficient farm operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid work ethic, physical stamina. This position offers an opportunity to work in a rapid-paced setting with a focus on animal care and safety.
Responsibilities
Catching and handling poultry safely and humanely during moves and vaccination procedures
Administering vaccines accurately to poultry as per established protocols
Secure Handling of needles
Assisting with the loading and unloading of poultry into transport vehicles
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure biosecurity standards are met
Monitoring poultry health and reporting any signs of illness or distress
Travelling to and from farms across Ontario in work vehicle
Experience
Prior experience with farm machinery or livestock handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, often lifting loads up to 50 pounds or more
Experience working in agricultural or outdoor environments is a plus
Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Willingness to learn about poultry health management and vaccination techniques
Pay
wages are based on piece work rates per bird or kg depending on job type
