- 1. Teach, coach and supervise nursing students in classroom, lab and mental health clinical settings.
- 2. Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
- 3. Participate in the development, maintenance and revision of curriculum.
- 4. Work closely with the Psychiatric Nursing Program Head and other project team members.
- 5. Participate in program, Campus, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, industry and qualified or other stakeholder activities.
- 6. Travel may be required.
Qualifications
- 1. Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing, or a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing with a degree in a related field.
- 2. Active registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRPNS) or College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
- 3. Minimum of three years recent and relevant clinical/teaching experience with a focus on mental health.
- 4.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- 5. Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
- 6. Effective instructional ability.
- 7. Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of psychiatric nursing, medical nursing, and adult education.
- 8. Small group facilitation skills and leading, modeling and teaching interaction skills.
- 9. Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources.
- 10. Understanding of copyright process.
- 11. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
- 12. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
