We have been providing support services for over 30 years and have grown to 5 Day Programs, 22 Residences, as well as Respite and Supported Independent Living services in multiple locations in the GTA. We tailor all programming to respect and meet the individual needs of people with developmental disabilities, persons with dual diagnoses, and individuals with multiple disabilities.

Position: Part-Time Residential Counselor (Union Position)

Rate of Pay: $23.16/hour

Current Location: Thornhill, ON (Major intersection: Steeles & Yonge)

Hours and Days of Work: Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 11pm

Qualifications
Diploma or degree program in a related field
At least one year of experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities
Must have experience dealing with challenging behaviors because of the possibility of working with aggressive people supported
Must have a valid G driver’s licence




Solid written and oral communication as well as problem-solving skills.
Must have the ability to work as a team and independently
French language is an asset

Job Duties
To work hands-on with individuals that have developmental disabilities in a Residential workplace
This is currently an all-female residential group home.
To assist with personal hygiene, prepare nutritional meals, administer medication, complete appropriate paperwork and documentation, attend meetings, accompany individuals to appointments, and other related duties.
Responsible for transporting people supported in company vans to outings and/to from programs
Provide support in daily living as needed and assist in planning leisure activities in the community
