Ontario Environmental is currently seeking a certified TSSA Petroleum Mechanic 2 (PM2) for on-call, per-project subcontract work.
This is an independent contractor / on-call position—ideal for a licensed PM2 mechanic who runs their own business or takes on freelance subcontract projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform underground fuel storage tank (UST) removals and system decommissioning.
Perform system gas-freeing/purging, disconnection, and safety oversight on site.
Execute and sign off on required TSSA closure documentation and practical skills forms.
Maintain compliance with Ontario Regulation 213/01 and the CSA/TSSA Liquid Fuels Handling Code.
Serve as our designated licensed technician for corporate TSSA registration purposes.
Mandatory Requirements:
Active TSSA PM2 Certification (Must be in valuable standing with TSSA).
Commercial Insurance: Must hold valid Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance or be willing to operate under a formal subcontractor agreement.
Experience: Proven experience with underground storage tank removals, nitrogen/CO2 purging, and site safety protocol.
Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation/tools.
Pay Structure: Competitive Hourly / Daily Rate or Flat Per-Project Fee (Negotiable based on project scope and experience).
Pay: $23.26-$47.89 per hour
