Become a crucial part of The Salvation Army as a Maintenance Worker, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients and staff at the Alice M Walter House. This role includes general maintenance, equipment checks, and urgent repairs in office. Reporting to the Assistant Property Manager, the Maintenance Worker will contribute significantly by addressing repairs in facilities, from plumbing issues to touch-up paintings.
You will maintain safety protocols and perform regular checks, ensuring everything runs smoothly at the 160 Jarvis location. This hands-on role involves both minor equipment repairs and environmental upkeep. Key Responsibilities:
Monitor building systems and report potential issues
Maintain detailed logs of equipment and repairs
Follow protected procedures when handling chemicals
Perform minor repairs such as plumbing and painting
Assist in fire inspections and health safety checks Requirements:
Grade 12 and two years of relevant experience
Familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment
Solid communication skills, written and verbal
Physical ability to perform maintenance duties
Completion of WHMIS and First Aid/CPR training Leverage your skills in maintenance and safety compliance to support The Salvation Army's mission for community service.
