Resort Management - Sicamous RV & Cabin Resort
- - - Pinnacle Lifestyles is looking for Resort Managers to join our team for the 2027 camping season.
This is a hands-on management position responsible for the day-to-day operation of the resort. Resort Managers oversee guest services, reservations, staffing, retail operations, property maintenance, grounds, facilities, budgets and seasonal projects. You will work closely with both guests and staff while making sure the resort is safe, well maintained and operating efficiently.
We are looking to build an on-site management team with complementary skills and experience. Strong candidates may come from hospitality, tourism, resort operations, customer service or team leadership backgrounds, while others may bring experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping or skilled trades. This is a seasonal position running approximately April through October and requires living on-site for the duration of the season. Staff accommodation may be available through the use of a company-owned RV, or employees may bring their own suitable RV. As we are looking to build an on-site management team, joint applications with complimentary skills and experience are welcome to apply together.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide a high level of hospitality and create a welcoming experience for resort guests.
- Hire, onboard, train, schedule and supervise seasonal resort staff, including Guest Services Agents, Housekeepers and Maintenance/Groundskeeping staff.
- Ensure staff understand company policies, procedures and safety requirements and maintain required certifications.
- Manage staff schedules and timesheet submissions while maintaining approved labour budgets.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for employees and guests.
- Respond to guest questions, concerns and issues promptly and professionally.
- Oversee online and phone reservations and regularly review bookings for accuracy.
- Monitor the reservation system and manage site inventory to maximize availability and occupancy.
- Coordinate resort events, activities and long-weekend programming, including staffing and operational requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of local attractions, activities and services to assist guests.
- Oversee camp store operations, including retail and food and beverage sales, inventory and ordering.
- Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and complete required revenue, occupancy and operational reporting.
- Complete and oversee regular inventory counts.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Monitor operating expenses and budgets and report significant variances or anticipated costs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local vendors, contractors and community partners.
- Lead seasonal opening and closing procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee construction, renovation and property improvement projects.
- Complete and oversee general property maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure resort grounds are well maintained, including landscaping, watering, planting, grass cutting and other seasonal grounds work.
- Monitor resort facilities, utilities, amenities, equipment and infrastructure and ensure they remain safe and in good working condition.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs within your experience and abilities, coordinating qualified contractors or trades when required.
- Ensure resort facilities, cabins, rental accommodations and washrooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Maintain appropriate maintenance, inspection and operational records.
- Work collaboratively with other on-site managers and the Pinnacle Lifestyles regional team to ensure the overall success of the resort.
- Be prepared to step in wherever needed. Resort management is hands-on, and priorities can change quickly based on guest needs, weather, maintenance issues and resort operations.
Qualifications & ExperienceWe recognize that successful Resort Managers can come from different professional backgrounds, successful candidates may have:
- Previous management, supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, resorts, campgrounds, hotels or customer service is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in construction, property maintenance, landscaping or a skilled trade such as electrical, plumbing,
carpentry or mechanical work is considered a strong asset.
- Experience overseeing renovations, contractors or property improvement projects is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a guest-focused mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, rapid-paced environment.
- Adaptable, flexible and dependable.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors and performing hands-on operational tasks.
- Comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications and learning reservation and property-management software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong work ethic and team mentality.
- An appreciation for camping, outdoor recreation and the resort lifestyle
What This Role Is Really LikeResort management isn't a traditional desk job. On any given day, you might help resolve a guest concern, review reservations, coordinate staff schedules, troubleshoot a water or electrical issue, meet a contractor, check a cabin, help with landscaping, review occupancy numbers and prepare for a busy long weekend.
During peak season, the resort is a busy environment and unexpected situations are part of the job. Successful Resort Managers are comfortable making decisions, changing priorities and pitching in wherever needed while maintaining a positive experience for guests and staff.
