As part of the Product Engineering team, the candidate will be directly involved in the design and development of best-in-class product solutions that maintain Lockheed Martin Canada Inc.(Lockheed Martin)'s robust position in the Naval market space. As a hardware (HW) system lead with focus on our German Naval Combat Management System (CMS) HW architecture, this role includes designing CMS products that meet customer requirements, establishing vendor relationships, auditing potential equipment suitability, and supporting back-end systems HW development from prototyping to End-Of-Life (EOL).
The candidate must be able to lead project coordination, cost account management, work estimates, and team execution, leveraging Agile product design methodology. The candidate will also lead the team in proposing improvements, conducting risk analysis and supporting design reviews to optimize system and HW design.

The candidate will also lead the team in proposing improvements, conducting risk analysis and supporting design reviews to optimize system and HW design.
Specific Position Responsibilities The candidate will perform the following:
- Support to Cost Account Management
- Support to project planning and execution tracking
- Basis of Estimate development
- Requirement analysis, derivation, reconciliation, and traceability for an integrated system that includes HW and software designs
- Produce and/or review design artefacts for system and HW products
- Produce and/or review white papers and market studies for system and HW products
- Coordinate with procurement department and communicate with suppliers to identify suitable products to meet system requirements
- Establish, produce, and maintain a Bill Of Material (BOM) to support equipment definition
- Support design and demonstration that selected HW solutions meet required performance criteria and cyber accreditation (Including: Operating Environment, Network, Processing, Storage, Interfaces, Guards, Data and Network Security, Storage Architecture, Middleware, Processing Usage, System Configuration and Management, Technical Performance Measurements and Optimization, etc.)
- Survey of the technologies in the marketplace, the trends in the industry and technology selection, including trade-off studies and prototype demonstrations. Define technology criteria selection based on required performance and conduct trade-off analysis.
Basic Qualifications
- Possesses a bachelor’s in engineering or related area of study with minimum five (5) years of professional experience in field, or minimum three (3) years of professional experience with a related master’s degree
- Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work (French and English)
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management
- Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Office tool suite
- Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
- Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
- Have a high learning ability
- Ability to adapt and perform in a agile environment.
Desired Skills The following skills and certification are considered as assets:
- Experience leading product development via Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of requirement management for HW lifecycle, from design to procurement and obsolescence
- Certified Product Owner
- Certified Scrum Master
- Experienced in project management and planning tools such as MS Project
- Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Cameo, Jira, Windchill, and Confluence
- Familiarity with configuration management processes.
