The opportunity
Reporting to the VP, Technology Services the Senior Manager, Technical Management is a leader responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise-wide Infrastructure strategy. This role leads high-performance teams in building scalable, secure, and automated systems that support the company’s initiatives. The Senior Technical Manager bridges the gap between development, operations, architecture, InfoSec, and business stakeholders, providing both technical depth and leadership.
This position combines hands‑on engineering with stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, team development, and the continuous evolution of technology practices across the enterprise.
Key responsibilities
Partner with Architecture and InfoSec to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance requirements
Collaborate with other technological and business teams
Serve as the enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) and thought leader on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and cloud-native delivery models
Define and own the roadmap for platform engineering; champion industry best practices and continuous improvement
Drive standardization of technology practices and toolsets across teams and business lines
Develop KPIs to measure and communicate performance and delivery outcomes to senior leadership
Lead design and implementation of resilient service mesh, observability platforms, and container orchestration at scale
Maintain hands‑on engagement in architecture decisions, performance optimization, and incident resolution as needed
Evangelize security‑as‑code, reliability, and automation‑first culture
Build, inspire, and retain a high‑performing engineering team, network, and systems teams; mentor senior engineers and promote engineering excellence
Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and succession planning for infrastructure teams
Collaborate with PMO and Delivery Management teams to prioritize and deliver strategic & tactical initiatives
Act as a senior escalation point for enterprise‑critical delivery and operations issues
Cultivate strong working relationships with business and technology executives

The ideal candidate will possess
7-10 years total experience in infrastructure and operations space
Bachelor’s in computer science, technical diploma or equivalent
AWS Certified is a strong asset
Expert knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing cloud‑native application stacks
Advanced expertise in containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), configuration management (Terraform, Ansible), and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Proven experience scaling infrastructure capabilities in regulated industries (financial services)
Experience with ITSM, incident management, compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, etc.)
Management of multiple cloud platform and services
Management of multiple applications and systems
Team-oriented configuration of networking and security properties
Collaborative automated and manual deployment of services and applications
Collaborative infrastructure management and system administration
Fundamentals of virtual machines and containers
Fundamentals of networking
Fundamentals of cloud security
Fundamentals of enterprise monitoring
Range $125,000 to $135,000 annually.
This range represents Wellington-Altus's expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Wellington-Altus's total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
