Join the Civil Law Division with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Toronto as a Counsel. This temporary role requires a solid grasp of municipal, planning, and housing law to advise on key government projects. The Ministry is seeking two Counsel to provide essential legal advice in a cooperative environment. Ideal candidates should have robust knowledge of legislation, risk assessment, and public law matters.
Your responsibilities will extend to drafting legal documents, advising on contracts, and representing the Crown in hearings. Key Responsibilities:
Support policy and program development initiatives
Provide risk-based legal advice on municipal law
Draft legislation, agreements, and legal opinions
Represent the Crown in Ontario Land Tribunal hearings
Collaborate with other legal specialists and clients Requirements:
Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Knowledge of Planning Act and Municipal Act
Experience in legal drafting and advisory roles
Strong judgment and analytical skills
