Your Opportunity:As a member of the team-oriented, interdisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care and practices to full scope as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). The relief (float) LPN will go to all medicine units as required. Other key competencies for this role include Interpersonal, organizational, and assessment skills. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team. Ability to work independently while continuing to collaborate with team members. Ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. Accountability, critical thinking, time management, and communication skills. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications: Recent experience in acute care inpatient hospital setting required within the last 2 years. Basic computer and email skills are required.Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a Medicine acute care practice setting within the last 2 years preferred. Experience working in a casual or float position preferred. Experience working within the CoACT framework is preferred. Order Processing and Transcription experience preferred. IV Certification preferred. Ventilator skills are preferred.
