About Us
Earthside Birth is located on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities. We are a full‑scope midwifery practice with four IBCLC on staff and complementary therapists including pelvic floor physiotherapy and acupuncture. Our clinic, situated in West Bay Esquimalt, features natural light, ocean views, and two comfortable rooms. We work in two teams, regularly hold community classes and events, and prioritize diversity and accessibility for underserved families. Our experienced MOA and strong administrative framework ensure smooth operations, supported by electronic charting on OSCAR and Powerchart for Victoria General Hospital.

Position Summary
We are seeking two full‑time midwives to join our practice. Call shifts are 24 hours long, and each midwife works one clinic day per week. Shifts include lunch breaks where you can enjoy walking the Songhees walkway, just steps from our door.

Key Responsibilities





Provide clinical care during call shifts, including home and hospital births.

Participate in clinic days, attending patient consultations and support sessions.

Collaborate with team members on caseload decisions and patient care plans.

Maintain professional documentation in OSCAR and Powerchart systems.

Qualifications

Registered Midwife in good standing, with a commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork.

Preferably at least 3 years of experience as a registered midwife.

Robust communication skills and comfort working with diverse populations.

Established interprofessional relationships and experience with both home and hospital birth settings.
