Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools is searching for a District Principal to lead Indigenous learning initiatives. Drive change through justice and equity-focused practices in collaboration with education leaders. In this critical role, you will work with the Indigenous Education Council to develop strategies that foster student wellness and success for Indigenous learners.

Your leadership will be essential in creating a culture of collaboration and addressing the inter-generational impact of colonization. You will also oversee the implementation of district-level education practices and support Indigenous staff. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with principals and teachers to support learning agendas
Enhance educational experiences through evidence-based practices




Oversee Indigenous budget and ensure audit compliance
Partner with communities to create Local Education Agreements
Engage with IEC to advance Indigenous learning strategies Requirements:
Master’s degree in Curriculum, Leadership, or a related field
Valid BC teaching certificate
Three or more years in district leadership
Knowledge of culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices
Commitment to equity and Reconciliation efforts Utilize your managerial courage and empathy to enable success in Indigenous education.
